video card

I have a Dell 2400 dimension p4....right now I am running xp pro and everything is running fine.....I did upgrade to win 7 ultimate and everything worked...however the video had something to be desired, it only had one resolution (800x600) and all text was very large and I could not make it smaller...I did inquire to dell and asked if there was a driver for the video and the answer was "nope" and there was no hope for intel base driver for my pc...my question is...............since I have vacant pci sockets, can I install a video card that will support win7 and will it work in my 2400???...if so are there any recommendations ??? I think I posted this before but I am not sure if it was this site

I installed a Sparkle 8400GS in a 2350, a very similar PC to yours, and it worked very well with Windows 7. I could not find a Windows 7 driver for the onboard graphics, so I disabled them.

The Sparkle is not only inexpensive, but it is a darling on AVS Forum for its ability to add Blu-ray high-definition playback capability to older computers.
